Supporting Other Local Organizations

We like to play with others.

In addition to the projects and events that our club backs, our members love to reach out and give our support to many other local Rotary Clubs and Non-Profit Organizations in Windsor Essex. These activities help us to continue to realize the goals of Rotary International's Areas of Focus.

Miracle Food Drive

On June 27, 2020, members of Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial took to the streets of their community to help gather non-perishable items for the food banks of Windsor Essex.  Together with over 10,000 like-minded volunteers, we helped collect and sort over 2,000,000 pounds of food.

Coldest Night of the Year

The Coldest Night of the Year is an annual event held in multiple locations across Canada, and proceeds from each location go to a local charity that aids those who are homeless, or at risk of losing housing. The Windsor walk funds The Downtown Mission. The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial sends a team every year to support this family friendly event.

Coldest Night of the Year - 2021

In 2021, the Coldest Night of the Year was a virtual walk, meaning that instead of walking as a huge group, walkers walked on their own, or within their bubble. Across Canada, over 24,000 walkers in 149 locations raised $9,742,765.  Windsor's event raised $94,346, with Team Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial  fielding a small team of three that raised $1,050!

Windsor St. Clair TV Auction

Each November since 1986, the Windsor-St. Clair Rotary Club has held their popular TV Auction. Members of the community can view items online and call in their bids. The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial assists their club every year by manning the phones and recording bids.

Socks and Bottoms

Every year, the members of the 11 Rotary clubs in Windsor-Essex get together to collect socks and bottoms. Everyone knows about can drives, but what is often not donated are these important items. This initiative was started as a "Past President's" project years ago and it has only gotten bigger! We tend to meet, have a meal and build a 'mountain' with these donations. All items STAY LOCAL and go to the Windsor-Essex Homeless Coalition.

Town of LaSalle Night Markets

We participated in the Town of LaSalle Night Markets which featured vendors, food trucks and music from May to August 2019.  While promoting Rotary we also showcased a young refugee’s craft work and helped her to get some exposure in the community.
