On October 21, 2025 Rotary LaSalle Centennial
and Local Pizzerias will team up for
“Pizza for Polio” Campaign
The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial and local pizzerias are joining forces in support of the worldwide eradication of POLIO. The annual Pizza for Polio fundraiser is in cooperation with Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign.
On October 21, 2025, residents of Windsor-Essex are encouraged to order pizza from the participating pizzerias. Each vendor will generously be donating a part of their proceeds to Rotary International’s Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
The Global Polio Eradication Initiative is a public-private partnership led by national governments with five partners – the World Health Organization (WHO), Rotary International, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Its goal is to eradicate polio worldwide.

POLIO INFORMATION:
Polio is a paralyzing and potentially fatal disease that still threatens children in some parts of the world.
For more than 35 years, Rotary and our partners have driven the effort to eradicate polio worldwide. Today, we have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent, and just two countries continue to report cases of wild poliovirus: Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Because of the efforts of Rotary and its partners, nearly 19 million people who would otherwise have been paralyzed are walking, and more than 1.5 million people are alive who would otherwise have died.

Since 2007 all funds raised in the fight to end Polio by Rotary have been matched 2:1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, making your donation go much farther in eradicating Polio worldwide.

When this disease is eradicated, it will be only the second disease to be wiped off the face of the earth, the first being smallpox.
