In June, local families were invited to gather at the LaSalle Civic Centre for a Movie Night Under the Stars. The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial, Rotary Interact Club of LaSalle, and the Town of LaSalle partnered on this fun-filled event from 2015 to 2019. BBQ hot dogs and concession, including chips, popcorn, candy, and soft drinks were available for purchase. This family-fun event is now run by Rotary Interact Club of LaSalle,

 

Prior to the movie, families were welcome to participate in many activities, including:

• Family Fun at the LaSalle Branch of the Essex County Library including Storytime, Construction fun with LEGO and other materials, and Family Game Time.

• Mad Science demonstration on the lawn, was sponsored by the LaSalle Branch of the Essex County Library

• Fun with The Art Lab, Face Painting and other outdoor activities.

 

In lieu of financial donations, the Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial encouraged all attendees to bring canned goods to support the St. Andrew’s Community Food Bank, LaSalle’s only local food bank, which was accessed by over 70 families monthly. The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial has been committed to supporting this food bank and local families in need through their Holiday Hope Baskets annual program.
