Little Free Libraries
Little Free Libraries is a global network committed to promoting the love of reading. The Rotary Club of LaSalle installed its first Little Free Library at the Vollmer Centre. The newest one is at St Andrew's Church at the corner of Laurier and Divine. The club took on Rotary's challenge to expand its Education and Literacy programming by increasing the number of Little Free Libraries in District 6400, comprised of Windsor and Metro Detroit.

The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial collaborated with Sandwich Secondary School to design, build and decorate the first Little Free Library in order to showcase local talent, and encourage youth to take part. Owen Stichhaller, a Grade 11 student at Sandwich Secondary was the chief builder of the library while Sanja Srdanov, teacher of Visual Arts directed students with the decoration of the library. The first Little Free Library is located in the main lobby at the Vollmer Complex. Since that first one we have installed libraries at the LaSalle Medical Clinic on Front Rd. and other locations throughout the town.
