For almost 20 years the Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial has been embracing the motto of “Service Above Self”. We have given back to the local community through projects that champion youth, reduce food insecurity, and improve our environment. We also provide financial support to other organizations that share our goal of improving lives locally and globally.
In 2025, we celebrated our 20th anniversary with the unveiling of The Rotary Circle, a lasting legacy that beautifies our town and gives its citizens a place for relaxation and reflection. The Rotary Circle water feature is a fun and safe place for kids to play; for adults to relax; and can be used as a cooling station. The Rotary Circle provides a large open space that could be used for large gatherings like performances, It will truly be a multi-purpose all-season space. The Rotary Circle is located within LaSalle Landing, part of the town of LaSalle’s waterfront beatification plan!
For this project, the Rotary Club LaSalle Centennial has partnered with the Town of LaSalle and the WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF). The support of many generous donors and the following sponsors: TD Bank Group, The Joan and John Vollmer Fund, WindsorEssex Community Foundation, Windsor-Essex Rotary clubs, Jim Broad-Re/Max Capital Diamond, Reaume Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and The LaSalle Community Healthcare Corp had led to its success.

Meet Jody Raffoul
“Canada’s Best Kept Secret “
The oldest son of first generation immigrants, Jody Raffoul grew up in Leamington. At age of 15 when Raffoul bought his first guitar from a neighbour. Raffoul is a self-taught musician who bought his first guitar at 15. Raffoul has turned this into a successful, uncompromising music career.
In the late 80’s early 90’s bars and clubs would be packed to hear his renditions of favorite rock classics. Raffoul would go on to write his own music playing well over 200 shows a year both acoustic and with a full band.
His songwriting and his popularity, increased whether at home or across the border in the Detroit Music scene. In 2004 he won a contest and was selected by Jon Bon Jovi personally as the national winner. This resulted in Raffoul and his band opening for Bon Jovi in front of a sold-out crowd at Giants Stadium in New Jersey.
In his own words Raffoul explains his writing process. “You know I’ve been lucky enough to be doing this for a long time and making a living at it. But the blessing can also be somewhat of a curse. I could never separate my music from my life or vise versa so it’s all there in the songs if you will, I couldn’t hide it if I tried... but I can tell you I haven’t compromised.. and if I am proud of just one thing, it’s that the music is honest and comes from real life and the heart.”

The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial meets Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at the Essex Golf and
Country Club, LaSalle from May to October and at LA Town Grill from November to April .
